Oscar De La Hoya promotes prostate and breast cancer-detection screenings

Sep 13, 2024

Oscar De La Hoya and Holly Sonders on August 29, 2024, announced a $50,000 donation to support early detection of prostate and breast cancer at Adventist Health White Memorial. The donation is the latest in De La Hoya’s history of partnering with the hospital and comes ahead of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month (September) and Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October).

The gift will support prostate and breast-cancer screenings, raising awareness through educational sessions, and cancer support groups.

“We want to do whatever we can to help provide men and women with access they need to
remain healthy for their families,” De La Hoya and Sonders said. “We want this to become less of
a taboo subject in the community and spread the message that people should get checked early
and annually.”
