BE A MISSION OWNER The Robert R. and Jaclyn Tilley Hill Family
On Sept. 26, 2024, the Adventist Health White Memorial community gathered to honor the Robert R. and Jaclyn Tilley Hill family for their generosity.
During an intimate ceremony, two plaques titled “This Little Light of Mine” were unveiled in the hospital’s lobby and surgery waiting room.
In August 2020, the Tilley Hill family gave a $25,000 gift in honor of Dr. E. Laurence Spencer-Smith, who has cared for them with compassion and skill for many years.
That December, they deepened their generosity with $50,000 grant honoring physicians who embody the “Art of Caring,” including Dr. Spencer-Smith, Dr. Francis Lau, Dr. Susie Lau, Dr. Kenneth Pelton, Dr. Elizabeth Larson (in memorial), and Dr. Masao Nakamoto (in memorial). The grant established the “Art of Caring” curriculum to train residents and faculty in empathetic, patient-centered care.

“I was born with a PAT with a WPW,” Jaclyn Hill shared, referring to her personal battle with Paroxysmal Atrial Tachycardia and Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome. “Dr. Lau performed a cardiac ablation, and it was a game changer.” To Dr. Lau, she added, “We have quite a history, don’t we?”
Thank you, Robert R. and Jaclyn Tilley Hill family for your generosity.
