Cancer affects every family. But for the Lantina and Hispanic women in East Los Angeles, Boyle Heights and Montebello served by Adventist Health White Memorial, a cancer diagnosis and poor outcomes strike at higher rates than for other women. We are committed to providing patients care from a caregiver whose ethnic background matches their own, which improves patients’ experiences and outcomes.

Since 2006, more than 1,200 young adults from Boyle Heights, East Los Angeles and Montebello have had life-altering encounters with professionals in a wide variety of healthcare careers, opening to them a world of possibilities they had never dreamed of. They’ve also experienced mentoring and guidance, encouragement and inspiration to pursue higher education and reach their best potential.

Bringing True Health and Well-Being to the Community The Community Resource Center

True community health and well-being extend beyond treating illness. Many chronic conditions in our community are rooted in environmental challenges and a lack of access to essential resources. Our Community Resource Center is dedicated to addressing these underlying issues and enhancing overall well-being. 

The Community Resource Center is home to the food and essentials pantry, fresh produce farmer’s market voucher program, ¡Vive Bien! senior wellness, and it supports our community garden. Through these programs, along with critical services like health insurance enrollment and wellness workshops, we help families gain the coverage they need, provide food to those facing hunger, and support seniors who may be isolated. 

With generous support from donors like you, the Community Resource Center can continue to offer this critical, comprehensive support 和 empower our community, helping to ensure that everyone has the care and resources they need to thrive.
