“Each day seems like it’s getting better. We are grateful to have the community’s support.” – Adventist Health White Memorial employee

Helping our employees

When wildfires erupted last month, you generously gave to support our employees. But the need for support remains urgent.

This heartfelt quote came from one of many Adventist Health White Memorial employees who tragically lost their home to the recent wildfires but, thanks to you, has found a measure of relief and hope for the future.

Adventist Health White Memorial Charitable Foundation has distributed $10,000 in immediate assistance, but the journey to recovery is long.

One employee shared, “Our home in Altadena was completely destroyed, and we are now facing the daunting task of rebuilding our lives from scratch.”

Rest assured that we are committed to walking this road with our employees step by step as they navigate an uncertain future.

Our employees are the backbone of our community. They work tirelessly to heal, support and uplift others, ensuring our hospital runs smoothly and our neighbors receive the care they need.

Now, they need your support.

Please help us provide aid to those in need by making a gift today to replenish our Employee Hardship Fund. Your gift will directly aid our employees as they rebuild their homes and their lives, while giving them hope.

Thank you for being part of our vital mission and bringing hope and compassion to those in need.

Helping our community

In addition to activating the Employee Hardship Fund for associates, Adventist Health White Memorial Charitable Foundation collaborated with the Community Resource Center and our Mission and Spiritual Care program in providing additional relief resources to the community. We are grateful to the White Memorial Seventh-day Adventist Church for partnering with our foundation in offering the community a disaster relief shelter, where people impacted by the fires had a safe space for evacuees, food, water and other essential resources, as well as emotional and spiritual care. The relief shelter and resources were available around the clock for several weeks.

The Los Angeles community came together to provide support through an outpouring of donations and people signing up to volunteer. We were able to provide aid to not only our employees but the community at large by coming together for a common cause: fire relief. We are grateful for all the kind donations from community donors and partners, volunteers, employees and chaplains who made this relief possible.

Mental health tips

Mental health tips for families impacted by the Los Angeles fires with Adventist Health’s values in mind:

  • Be Curious: Stay open to learning and growth.
  • Be a Force for Good: Reach out to help others.
  • Be a Mission Owner: Take responsibility for your well-being.
